With nearly 40 students this term, my studio at Belmont Academy is full except for a couple slots on Sunday. I expect it to be that way in the spring as well. Rather than start a waiting list, I will take on a limited number of select students to teach in their homes.
Since traveling to students' homes can be time-consuming and costly, I will consider doing so for an advanced student* under special circumstances. For a self-motivated student, I will do in-home lessons on Saturdays--one hour minimum per address--limited to the Brentwood-Franklin area. My fee is $40.00 per hour in Brentwood and $50 in Franklin, and lessons must be paid a month in advance. This rate includes consideration for travel time. If you have an exceptional pianist and you can't make lessons during my normal hours (M-F 4:30-8:00pm) at Belmont, please call me at (615) 268-2296 and we'll talk. See my main site for my credentials, information on my studio, teaching philosophy, tuition rates, schedule, etc.
*Faber Level 5 (or the equivalent in another method) or higher. He or she must be committed to serious practice, not have to be coaxed, and be able to balance extra-curricular activities. I am not willing to travel to someone's home only to be informed the student didn't practice everyday because of soccer or softball.
